This is a preproduction model used for testing, fit and finish are a little rough, but none of the tooling used is production quality.
I'm at the Mustang Round-Up at Texas World Speedway today, and the Shelby Brand manager was kind enough to bring out a GT350 for us all to enjoy. After some parade laps around the track, the man who brought the car out gave a group of us some details on the car. Cameras were not permitted when the hood was up.
Accoroding the the Shelby brand manager, if he gets his way production for the GT350 will be between Boss 302 and Shelby GT500 numbers, and the GT350R will be between Boss 302 and Laguna Seca Edition numbers.
Other random details: The front core support is made of carbon fiber, but it is not autoclaved. There is a full body undertray to direct airflow and provide downforce. There will be a tech package and track package, the track package will include at least more aggressive aero, but unknown on anything else.
Definitely promising details, I can't wait for the full production details to come out.

The carbon core support not being autoclaved is interesting. It likely means it is made in a similar manner to parts of the BMW i3 (and maybe i8 as well) chassis, which I believe doesn't involve autoclaves either but rather 'cooks' and cures the parts in a press. Such a process is going to be vital in reducing costs and will continue evolving to bring CF parts into more and more common cars.
/may have worked at a supplier working on such things

Yes, I think that is how he explained it, didn't quite remember the details so I didn't want to give false info.
